My first love has always been pen & ink. I started using old crowquill pens and bottles of India ink when I was in junior high school. At some point in art school I switched to technical pens and then on to computers in the 1980's. I've recently gone back to my first love and am now producing more and larger works in pen & ink. I use mostly Micron pens now, but still have my crowquills!
I've been doing a lot of illustrations for books in the last few years. These are samples of some of my interior book illustrations for my own books as well as other authors. I've collaborated with or contributed artwork to books by Finlay Cowan, Gary Lippincott, Levanah Shell Bdolak, Kay Plumb, Tony Jurgens and more. I've published three books of my own work so far and am now working on four more.
This is a collection of selected covers I've done for books.
Graphic Novel Works
This is a collection of pages from published and unpublished graphic novels.
3D Environment Works
I learned the art of architectural visualization while employed at the Broquard Studio of Beverly Hills. I created 3D models of exotic water features designed by Charles Broquard and placed them in 3D models of their intended environments such as hospitals, condominiums, resorts and hotels. I continue to create 3D environments for use in my graphic novel projects, illustrations and concept work.
Some models are created from scratch while others employ the use of purchased models from online resources such as Renderosity, DAZ3D, TurboSquid and Evermotion. I then either use the models as is or modify them to suit my purposes. A single environment scene can have hundreds of individual models.
I then add lighting and backgrounds such as a forest or a cloud-filled sky to enhance the realism.
Environmental images can be purely 3D as rendered by the software or modified to look more like hand-drawn or painted art using PhotoShop.
This is collection of random pieces created as experiments, practice or just for the fun of it.
Authors I've Worked With
This is a list of writers whose short stories I've illustrated over the years in genre publications, many of whom have gone on to write novels.
